2012 Season Comes to an End

World TeamTennis League 2012 has come to its conclusion this past weekend.
WTT winning teams have the opportunity to attend a WTT National Qualifier Championship.

VB Beach Winning Teams are:
3.0 Team - "VBFATA"
3.5 Teams - "Southside Slammers 2", "Torpedo Junction", "Miss Hit Misfits"
4.0 Teams - "Southside Slammers" and "Beach Breakers"
4.5 Team - "Short Skirts Long Rackets"

Congratulations to all and good luck at the National Qualifiers. Thank you to all the players who participated in the league this season. And, as always, thank you to all my first-time captains!!!

Teams competed at the USTA Tri-Level Sectional Championships in Virginia Beach @Virginia Beach Tennis & Country Club on January 20-22, 2012. 

This is the first year for (3.0/3.5/4.0) division for Mixed and Ladies and look forward to having more teams competing in these league next season. Thanks to all the Captains/players for helping with the growth of this "fun" competitive league.  Good Luck Teams!

Laurie Duquette

 
 

May Captain of the Month is Laurie Duquette, voted unanimously by her teammates. I agree wholeheartedly!

Laurie has captained Adult USTA Leagues for over 5 years, as well as  several of my Combo Women’s teams. It takes someone with tremendous dedication to be Captain for many years and endure those tasks that go along with the job.  

It truly amazes me when I get these nominations and read the qualities by the teammates on why their “Captain” should be recognized.  Organized, fair, cheerleader, motivated, encouraging. These adjectives I hear time and time again for nominated Captains.  Laurie was no exception.

To quote some  of her teammates: "Laurie Duquette should be Capt. of the month EVERY month.” 

“She is organized, creative, funny, caring, and the best captain ever.” “She has captained tirelessly for years and deserves a special pat on the back.” “Love her”!!

Thank you, Laurie for all you do as a Captain, which makes League Coordinators like me very happy. Thanks for the positive experiences you give to your teammates so they will continue to play the leagues.  Continue to do what you do best!!
